I remember when current Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau was elected in 2015 and all the people on social media swooning over the good-looking, tall, prime minister-elect and thought, “Ok, but what does he bring to the table?” Apparently, he brings a lot of problems and hardships.
Canada is a great country and has seen better days, but the resignation of Trudeau this morning will allow Canada to come back like never before. This is a good day for our brother and sisters to the north, let me explain why.
Background:
Trudeau is the son of former Canadian Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau, who was a popular, yet divisive Canadian PM in the 1970’s-1980’s. Trudeau was elected from the liberal party, re-elected several times, and is ranked high on Canadian historians’ list of Prime Ministers.
Justin Trudeau was elected in 2015 and was the first person elected Prime Minister who is the son of a former Prime Minister. Trudeau was elected from the liberal party after becoming its leader in 2013. He was a young, feminist liberal which was an instant hit in Canadian politics and look at his pedigree! They even turned him into a superhero in the comics.…Click here to see his comic book turn...
The junior Trudeau’s “leadership” has been a complete disaster for Canada, and enough pressure forced Justin to resign today. There have been many missteps for Trudeau, some of which I could not believe he came back from such as this:
It was very funny (not really) to watch Trudeau accuse others of racism and bigotry when he himself was one to do this type of stuff on multiple occasions. Quebec is well known for its blackface offenses, and their native son was no different.

The More Serious Issues:
Economy:
Justin Trudeau has spent billions on government social programs and green energy mistakes. This has caused high inflation and poor returns on money. Does this sound familiar to Americans? Governments spend too much money and overheat their respective economies. Too much cash, chasing too few hands. Trudeau and the Liberal Party also implemented a strong carbon tax in Canada. This is an anchor on the Canadian economy. As an example, from 1995-2015 the American and Canadian economies grew close to parallel. From the end of 2015 (when Trudeau took office) to present, the US has grown almost 25%, Canada only 15%. That does not sound like a lot of difference, but when you are situated and friendly with an economic behemoth like the United States, you should be doing a lot better.
You’ll notice that in both countries they are on a similar path, until Mr. Trudeau is elected prime minister, and that is where the wheels begin to fall off. Canadian growth is clearly slowing until the Covid-19 pandemic, in which both countries are crushed. Then the United States begins a return to normal, as does Canada, but then again Trudeau’s policies begin again to drive Canada into the proverbial ditch.
“The Economist reports that per capita income has plummeted to below 70% of that in the U.S. Canadians are now poorer than those in Alabama, the fourth poorest state in the US!” - Stephen Moore, US Economist
Canada and Canadians should be one of the richest countries and the richest people in the world, instead Trudeau and his party have taken the country back to a time before their middle-class rose to prominence. This is all in a span of approximately eight or nine years!
Immigration:
You are probably noticing some similarities between the American and Canadian issues at hand, the policy that has changed both sets of politics is that of immigration. Trudeau, much like his counterpart President Joe Biden, has let almost unfettered access to Canada which has brought on not only a crime wave, but reduced the amount of work for native-born Canadians.
"Well, I, uh, don't believe it's quite fair to condemn a whole program because of a single slip-up, sir" ("Dr. Strangelove", 1964)
“Currently, annual immigration in Canada amounts to almost 500,000 new immigrants – one of the highest rates per population of any country in the world. As of 2023, there were more than eight million immigrants with permanent residence living in Canada - roughly 20 percent of the total Canadian population. Despite (or perhaps because of) this long history of immigration, public opinion on migration levels in Canada is split: in 2021, 39 percent believed the numbers should be lower, while 34 percent were satisfied with the migration level.”
Immigration has become such a problem for Canada, that the usually accepting and polite Canadians, have had enough. Now look at the numbers in 2024.
Crack down on free speech:
Unlike their American counterpart, Canadians do not have a full right to free speech. There can be a government crackdown on certain types of speech, but Trudeau and his liberal colleagues have taken this to a new level. The most recent proposal, known as the “The Online Harms Act” aims to crack down on free speech in the goal of “safety” includes the following:
· Fining online social media companies up to 6% of their gross worldwide income for not cracking down on “hate speech” and “bullying.”
· Paying neighbors to snitch on their “hateful” neighbors.
· Putting people in jail for their online posts, including posts that occurred before the law passed.

This type of law is following along with European countries in cracking down on people’s rights to speak. This is not surprising for Trudeau, but Canadians have had enough.
During the Covid-19 lockdown, the Canadian government went after legitimate information, censored it, and took away people’s livelihoods. This was no more evident than in the treatment of the Canadian truckers who were protesting the shutdowns. Trudeau not only jailed his opponents, but actually froze their financial assets in punishment for their protests.
Side Note: If you are not reading Bari Weiss at The Free Press, you are missing some exceptionally good journalism, like it used to be before the legacy media became stenographers and propagandists for their particular causes.
Crime:
“From 2014 to 2022, Canada's violent crime rate rose by 43. 8% to 434 with 1 violent crimes per 100,000 people. In the U.S, the increase was 5. 3% to 380 with 7 per 100,000 people. Property crimes in Canada, was 2,491. 0.0 per 100,000 people in 2022, a 7. 0% increase since 2014, while U. S. property crimes fell by 24. 1%. Homicides in Canada grew from 1. 5 to 2. 3 per 100,000, a 53. 4% rise, while the U. S. homicide rate is higher at 5. 8 per 100,000, increasing by 49. 4%”
I do not think I need to explain this any better than the Trudeau government has been a complete disater on crime.
Final Thoughts:
There are several other factors that have caused the Canadians to be unusually angry, even when being known as the politest people on the planet. Unfortunately, this does not mean an immediate goodbye for Trudeau. It will take time for the liberal party to pick a new leader, so he will stay on until that happens.
Elections will happen in roughly April, and I have a good idea that conservative opposition leader, Pierre Poilievre will be elected prime minister with an exceptionally large Conservative majority. Poilievre is very smart, experienced, and well-spoken. He will give Canadians a new hope at fixing the problems that Mr. Trudeau brough with him.
Canadians are exactly as they are portrayed in the news and film, some of the nicest people on planet earth. That politeness can only be pushed so far and there is a backlash coming. Canadians deserve better and should turn to a different point of view for leadership as it has been clear for some time that the Trudeau vision of Canada was not right for Canadians.
It is time for Canadians to invoke their national anthem and live the words “O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.”
Final, final thought:
This is my favorite Trudeau screwup…
When you haven’t said it a lot, you will stumble…
All right I lied:
